Jeff Hacker is a native of Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended Tulane University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, and attended Law School, earning a Juris Doctorate. He moved to Dallas in 1972, and has resided in the Metroplex ever since.

Mr. Hacker has worked in private practice and as in house counsel, including working as a Senior Regional Attorney for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), in banking and finance. He subsequently worked as in-house Counsel for the largest Savings and Loan holding company in the area, which eventually was acquired by one of the nation’s largest banks. Subsequently, Mr. Hacker worked as Regional Counsel to a large multi-national business-to-business financial services company, before eventually leaving to manage a large regional title insurance company, and act as General Counsel to an owner-operator of commercial office and multi-family residential properties, before returning to private practice. Subsequently returning to private practice, Mr. Hacker became extremely knowledgeable in the area of Elder Law, and Estate Planning, which continues to be a major focus of his practice.

After ten years in private practice, Mr. Hacker accepted a position with one of the world’s largest banking organizations in the area of Default and Recoveries, dealing both with defaulted mortgages and credit card debt. He is knowledgeable in all areas of Regulatory Compliance, especially in the debt collection industry.

Mr. Hacker eventually returned to private practice, where he continues to represent commercial lenders, as well as small businesses, and also handles Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Probate matters.

Mr. Hacker is licensed in Texas and Missouri, and is licensed to appear before the Federal District Courts (including Bankruptcy courts) for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He holds an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubble, which is the peer review rating awarded to very few attorneys, based on reputation for competence and ethical performance. The law firm also holds an “A++” rating from the Better Business Bureau.
